When you add questions to your Google Form, Form Publisher needs to match your questions with the markers from your template. This article will explain how to proceed.
Form Publisher uses markers to display the answer in the right spot of your Google Form in your template.
Part 1: Selected template
Under ‘selected template’, you will see your template. In our example, we selected a Google Doc as template. You can ‘edit’ your document or ‘change template’:
Part 2: Operative markers
Under ‘Operative markers’, you will see the markers. The check icon indicates that your markers from your template are matching your Google Form questions.
From a pre-formatted template, Form Publisher creates 4 standard markers:
- <<Template Title>>
If you want to configure the date format for <<Today>> and <<Timestamp>> markers then click ‘4 standard markers’:
If you want to make sure that all your markers from your template are matching your Google Form questions click ‘Matching markers’ :
If Form Publisher can’t match a marker with a question from your Google Form, you will see the warning message ‘Issue markers’.
Part 3: Example
Let’s see with a simple example how to configure your markers in your template in 3 steps:
1. Add 'My first question?' as first question into your Google Form:
2. Add your question inside << >> from your template to display the answer in your generated document:
3. Check the state of all your markers to know if they match between your form and your template.
Once all your markers are valid, click ‘Next’:
