When you add questions to your Google Form, Form Publisher needs to match them with the markers from your template. This article will explain how to proceed.
Form Publisher uses markers to display the answer in the right spot of your Google Form in your template.
Under Selected template, you will see your template. In our example, we selected a spreadsheet template. You can Edit your document or Change template.
Under Operative markers, you will see them. The check icon indicates that your markers from your template are matching your Google Form questions.
From a pre-formatted template, Form Publisher creates 4 Standard markers.
- <<Template Title>>
These markers are also present in our template.
If you want to configure the date format for <<Today>>, and <<Timestamp>> markers, then click 4 Standard markers.
If you want the <<Timestamp>> marker to match with your current local time, configure your Timezone.
If you want to make sure that all your markers from your template are matching your Google Form questions, click Matching markers.
If Form Publisher can’t match a marker with a question from your Google Form, you will see the warning message Issue markers.
Let’s see with a simple example of how to configure your markers in your template in 3 steps:
Add Email address as the first question to your Google Form.
Add your question inside << >> from your template to display the answer in your generated document.
Check the state of all your markers to know if they match between your form and your template.
Enable response editing (optional)
Once you have your markers set, you can decide to:
- Enable response editing: if you want your recipients to edit their responses.
- Replace existing files on edit: if you want to replace the generated files instead of creating new copies.
