Learn how to transfer the ownership of Form Publisher settings from an account to a new one.
Once Form Publisher is set up on a Google Form with a specific account, only this account can edit the settings.
Please read below to know how to transfer the ownership of Form Publisher settings to another account.
1. Transfer the ownership of all your Google documents to the new account
If the previous owner's account and the new account are within the same domain, best would be to transfer ownership of all the following documents/folders from the previous to the new account:
- The template (either a Google Doc, Sheet or Slide)
- The Google Form (add the new account as a collaborator)
- The destination folder
- The responses spreadsheet
If they are not within the same domain, please share the documents to the new account with editing access.
2. Disable Form Publisher from the previous owner's account
Click the add-on icon, then Form Publisher > Form Publisher Status:

Disable the add-on in the sidebar:
This way, Form Publisher will erase the current trigger and the ownership of the add-on.
3. Enable Form Publisher from the new owner's account
Once the Google Form is opened from the new account, open Form Publisher Status again then re-enable Form Publisher:
And that's it! The account that re-enabled Form Publisher has now access to the sidebar and is the new owner of Form Publisher settings on this Google Form.

This is the answer I was looking for. Thank you.
Hi,
@Hector Rodriguez: Thanks for your feedback !
Form Publisher Team
Hello,
My company recently changed domain names and the Form Publisher will not let me changing the settings on the form due to the fact that its under ownership of my old email.
We own both the new and old domain, how can I gain access to my form publisher?
Hi
@Nivea Tejada: If you have access to both your account, you just have to follow this article.
I do not as my old email became an alias.
How can I gain access to my form publisher?
Hi,
@Nivea Tejada: We can give you your Form Publisher settings back if we have both emails address. Please contact us by email at: support@form-publisher.com
What if I want multiple people to be able to use/edit the form publisher. Each time someone else needs to make changes everyone else disables form publisher so they can enable it? I need at least 2 other people to be able to access it, if not concurrently.
Hi,
Only one person can edit the Form Publisher configuration at a time. You will have to switch the ownership whenever you change editor.
Hi
Ive tried following the above instructions (disabling form publisher in original account and enabling in new account) and I still get the same message: Form publisher has been set up by (insert original email address), you cannot change the settings.
I have transferred ownership of the google form, and template I created to the new account. I followed the above instructions. I've also tried removing the form publisher altogether in the old account and reinstalling in new account. This hasn't worked.
Please can you advise ASAP
I am planning to transfer ownership of connected forms (3). Questions:
1) Will the existing workflows (who receives email notifications) and the emails (custom text w/variable fields) also transfer? Or will we need to recreate them on each form?
2) Will we need to disable/enable FormPublisher on each Google form, or just the first of the connected ones?
Thank you.
Never rec'd response to original message, but discovered that YES, the notifications and emails remain in tact. They do not need to be recreated. Also, we transferred ownership on all copies of the form involved.
New issue:
Transfer appeared to work EXCEPT, there are now duplicate files being created -- one that is "owned" by me (original configurer) and one that is owned by the person to which we transferred final ownership.
I cannot see what we left out -- all folders, forms, response sheets and templates were transferred before we transferred FormPublisher settings. Please advise if there is anything else we can check to stop duplicate file generation.
