You can have Form Publisher generate a test document by submitting a test form response to your leave request form. By submitting the form response, Form Publisher recognizes the submitted data and uses it to replace the markers in the leave request template document.
Procedure
- Open the leave request form to submit a response.
- Click the Try your form button.
- If you previously closed Form Publisher, or you verified the markers on the Template and markers page, click the Preview (eye icon) button in the top-right corner.
- Click the Try your form button.
- Fill out the Leave request form and click Submit.
Result
- With default options, Form Publisher stores the first generated document in the Form Publisher Output's Folder in your Google Drive.
- Also by default, Form Publisher generates the leave request as a PDF file which it sends as an attachment to the email of the creator of the form.
- Form Publisher fills the relevant columns in the responses sheet with information for the generated document.

info It can take a few minutes before seeing the URL columns in the responses sheet.
- The <<Increment>> standard marker is replaced with 1 which indicates that this is the first form response from which a document is generated. The increment is recorded in the [Form Publisher] Increment column in the responses sheet and you can change it to match the numbering you need. For example, you can change the first increment to be 5 if that is the consecutive number of the first leave request in your overall system of accepting leave requests. The increment for the next generated document continues from 6, and so on.
- The <<Timestamp>> standard marker is replaced with the date and time of the form submission.
- The question markers in the template document are replaced with the data you filled out.

You can review the generated leave request document by opening it from your email or from the Form Publisher Output's Folder in your Google Drive.
You can now distribute the form in your organization to gather leave requests.
